Be Kind to Animals
My mom gave me an affinity for animals. She loved animals and encouraged me to always be kind to them. When I was very young, we would go on walks in the woods around a lake that was near our house. As we walked down a dirt road that runs next to the lake, she would point out animals that lived there and discuss them with me. It led me to see them as living things worth consideration are care.
Animals often have a rough life in our world and it’s easy to ignore or dismiss them. She made sure I never did that. Whenever she saw an animal in pain or being mistreated, it would upset her a lot. She would make sure I knew it wasn’t right.
Through care of animals she taught me the virtue of kindness.
